Jamie Redknapp is one of the most popular and talented footballers of his generation. However Jamie’s career was cut short by injury preventing him from playing and achieving the accolades his talent deserved. Jamie started his football career at A.F.C. Bournemouth under his father, manager Harry Redknapp, before going on to play for Liverpool football club, Tottenham Hotspur and finally Southampton, under his father for a second time. Jamie was also capped 17 times for England, although his injuries prevented a sustained run.
Jamie played a brief part in the Euro ’96 football tour, before conceding defeat due to injury and bowing out of the World Cup in 1998 and Euro 2000. Jamie’s retirement has seen him develop a highly successful career in the media as well as capitalising on his good looks and well known persona. In 2006 he became the face of M & S signature range, and ambassador of the World cup Bud campaign.
He joined Sky Sports in 2005 and continues as one of their principle pundits, passing on his knowledge of football and footballers as well as writing a column for the Daily Mail. Jamie enjoys married life with Louise Redknapp and their sons Charly and Beau. The couple became the face of Thomas Cook in 2009 and 2010 saw Jamie become the face of M&S Menswear. Jamie joined the new Sky panel show A League of Their Own as a captain alongside Freddie Flintoff and host James Corden earlier this year.
